About Bruce


Bruce Edwards is a former Hollywood film animator, and brings the whimsy of a character artist to his stories. A music major in college, he is also an accomplished musician and composer. As a writer he wrote screenplays during his Hollywood years before finding an audience for his young-adult fiction. His other creative endeavors include a stint as a puppeteer and performing magic at Disneyland. But his true passion lies in exploring the peculiarities in human behavior through imaginative storytelling. Bruce currently lives in Orange County, California.


Tinkering with early computer animation led Bruce to a successful career as a feature film animator. He worked for such notable animation studios as Warner Bros. Feature Animation and Fox Animation Studios.

FUN FACT: Bruce animated the title character in The Iron Giant, the first feature film for Academy Award-winning director Brad Bird.


Growing up in suburban San Francisco, Bruce caught the creative energy of that city at an early age. He studied Architecture in college, but switched to Music to join the burgeoning Bay Area music scene. He wrote rock tunes and radio jingles, while touring as a pop music artist between studio gigs.

FUN FACT: At the tender age of 14, Bruce began is music career drumming alongside his older siblings in the rock band The Edwards Brothers.


Bruce learned to perform Magic while a cast member at California's Disneyland. He would later adapt his skills in creative ways, like performing close-up magic, providing the hands of a 2-man-operated novelty puppet. Bruce's proficiency ultimately earned him membership at Hollywood's prestigious Magic Castle.

FUN FACT: Bruce worked at Disneyland's Main Street Magic Shop, where a young Steve Martin would hone his comedy chops.
